There are lots of useful threads out there countering the recent Sewell report which claims Britain is no longer institutionally racist… and yet then goes on to detail institutional racism while claiming these problems are caused by anything other than institutional racism. Nikesh Shukla, Dialogue Books, Danielle Solomon all provide tons of evidence to the contrary and take apart the report.

I was at best a casual fan of the Robotech TV series -- which is actually three unrelated anime series edited together for the US market -- so I hadn't heard of the copyright battle being waged in court -- specifically, a dispute over who owned the rights to one of those three series, Macross. A settlement has finally been reached, so both series should become widely available again soon.

6. I'm not a big fan of the police, but the more I learn the more I'm convinced that reform is not possible. This is the Supreme Court opinion related to this link, which is a good way to infuriate yourself.
