1. The first teaser for Star Trek: Picard is out, and it lives up to the name "teaser" -- in that the video gives me very little information about the show but definitely leaves me wanting more. I wonder if I'll have to make myself watch Nemesis again. I've seen it, but remember basically nothing about it.

2. From The Daily Beast, a piece on how black psychologiests helped shape Sesame Street.

3. I enjoyed these interviews with four MCU stunt doubles.

4. Also entertaining was this article on Game of Thrones fandom in the San Francisco Giants' clubhouse. (Posted before the finale, so no overt spoilers.)

5. Speaking of Game of Thrones... well, I don't want to give my entire entry over to sharing links about it, and it seems like old news by now (the downside of an every-other-week publication schedule). So I'll content myself with one of my favorite takes: an article in Scientific American suggesting that the last season has been unsatisfying because of a shift from sociological storytelling (in which events are shaped as much by institutions and society as by individual choices) to psychological storytelling (which focuses almost entirely on the choices and motivations of individuals).

6. On a happier note, have some brief interviews with Amy Poehler, Nick Offerman, and Mike Schur on the making of Parks and Recreation

7. The trailer for Batwoman is up and I think "Ruby Rose swaggers across Gotham like she owns it" might be what finally lures me into the DC universe.

8. I really like this art – space whales! Gorgeous lighting!

9. I'm very tentatively excited about the new version of His Dark Materials – it looks good, and the cast seems to be excellent, but I'm still suspicious!
