[FIC] [No Reservations/The Chronicles of Narnia] No Reservations: Narnia by [archiveofourown.org profile] edonohana (6,228) (Anthony Bourdain, Reepicheep)

This fic is several years old (from Yuletide 2010), but I'd never seen it before. It's a delightful mashup of the Narnia setting (and characters that are immediately recognizable despite being mostly OCs) and Bourdain's distinctive style and voice. I presume the story is making the rounds again because of Bourdain's recent passing; though written well before his death, I still found it a fitting tribute to his memory, and a comfort and joy to read.

[ART] [MCU] "when I was young i wanted to become a valkyrie" by [twitter.com profile] greatsenpai (Thor, Valkyrie)

This is a really cute picture of little baby Thor being utterly flustered by Valkyrie.

[ART] [MCU] TITLE by [twitter.com profile] alicexz (Killmonger)

Oh wow, the colours and style of this one are incredible! I love this painterly look, and it's a gorgeous piece.

[VID] [Uncharted] UNCHARTED – Live Action Fan Film (2018) directed by Allan Ungar (14:48) (Ensemble)

I was pretty sceptical about casting Nathan Fillion as Nathan Drake, but it... Actually works? It feels very much like the game, from Nate getting knocked about to his and Elena's pure joy about history, and once the shooting started, they did start filming it like the game, which was really cool! But from the writing to the filming to the plot (and yes, to the fact that all of the not-white people are trying to kill Nathan Drake, thanks guys), it feels like the opening to an Uncharted game, so it has won me over.

That, and then a charming little piece in the New Yorker revealing that yes, Bourdain did read it (which then spread to Metafilter and AV Club, thus disseminating the fic to even more people):

What's with your subtitle?

It's a riff off an extremely obscure meme only Tom Hardy and Myspace fans will appreciate.
