Due to the US election, we have decided to postpone all posts that would have gone up this week until next week. We are all sad and hurt over the results, and need to take some time to process it.

The results of this election are part of a worldwide backlash against social progress, and the effects have been seen everywhere, including in our speculative fiction and media critique communities. The Book Smugglers have a lovely, thoughtful post on their own break, which we recommend everyone read.

We, too, will strive to be more inclusive, more intersectional, and more progressive here at Lady Business. While we need some space to grieve right now, we will come back stronger and better than ever before, and will continue to fight for marginalized voices.

I cried for hours and hours and then some more the next day, but I'm moving on to anger and action.

Hugs and love to everyone. I hope that once we've taken a little time to grieve we can get up and start fighting. Because I know I'm not letting my people go down without a fight.

I've been spending way too much time on Twitter and Facebook, but the upside of that is that I've collected a lot of interesting links. So have a linkspam. There may be more of these if people are interested.

*so much love* it's been such a rough week, but amidst the horror, the deep grieving and fear - there is also such a profound expression of kindness from people who are feeling all those things and reaching out. That has helped me make it through and reminded me of things I can do. I can be kind, I can be more inclusive, I can reach out and strengthen ties in communities in my own small ways.
