[FIC] [Captain America: The Winter Soldier] i was found and now i don't roam these streets by hipsterchrist (15,620 words) (Steve/Bucky, Avengers)
This is a story about being part of a team and selflessness disguised as a story about cute stuffed bears. For the record, I finished this story wanting every single Avengers bear mentioned, including Rhodey Bear and War Machine. Why don't these exist? THIS IS A HORRIBLE OVERSIGHT. Never before have I regretted more forgetting all the sewing lessons of my childhood.

This is pairing fic insofar as the relationship is a established, but mostly it's a character piece as Bucky bonds with various team members and they bond with him, and Bucky and Steve learn where each other's rough edges are. There's a surprise to this story, which I think is handed over pretty early, but maybe not! I tend to assume anything plot wise I figure out is too easy, but maybe I sell myself short too often. This piece makes it really rewarding to go back and reread once you've finished to see how everything fits together. Really heartwarming and cute. ♥

I really like the hard beats in the beginning matched with elements of violence from both Steve and Bucky. Really well done!

Everything about this is brilliant, especially how the author folds in the Winter Soldier's musical theme. Definitely read this if you're into having extreme emotions about Bucky Barnes.

If, like me, you walked out of Captain America going: WOW SAM WILSON IS THE COOLEST, this vid is 100% your stop. Press play immediately! I love so many of the points this vid makes and the beats it hits: the beats at 0:33, 0:50, and 1:23 are all especially awesome. I realize how greedy this makes me but I could use another four or five Sam vids in my life just like this one, which underline the type of awesome person Sam Wilson is, which clearly means Marvel needs to cast Anthony Mackie in cameos for upcoming movies so vidders have more footage to work with.

NOT!SECRET: I love Radioactive by Imagine Dragons. I never get tired of it. I was SO EXCITED TO FIND THIS VID, let me tell you, because I also tend to think it's a hard song to vid well, because it's easy to get heavy-handed with it. This vid makes me so happy, though, from the beginning's echo of Steve's uncertainty to the end where he decides to BURN EVERYTHING TO GROUND because he's found the right path. I also like how the vid invokes darkness using the lyrics, like at 0:44, 1:19, and 1:25. PERFECTION.

I'm finally digging into all the meta I saved in the weeks post movie and reading through it. There's a lot and so much of it is excellent, and this so far has been one of my favorite pieces, which probably everyone has read already because I am ALWAYS BEHIND. I could legit quote the entire thing because there's so much superb commentary here, so we'll skip that and I'll just slap a huge READ IT!! sticker on it. Also check out the comments, too, which are equally rewarding (when you can READ THE COMMENTS, it's an amazing day on the Internet! :P).

I recced Always two weeks ago and then spent about three days spamming people with it, but now I'm going to go watch it again and sink into the beautiful drama and maybe tweet it out to everyone again because it's wonderful. yesssss
