Oh, I LOVE this review. Thank you so much! One of the A More Diverse Universe participants last year really didn't want to post a negative review of the book she read because she thought it wasn't in spirit of the blog tour, but it IS. It's not so much about going out to read books by people of different backgrounds and loving all of them, it's going out and reading books by people of different backgrounds in order to better inform yourself and add to the conversation. And, as we can see from your post above, people from different backgrounds are just as likely to fall into the patterns of stereotyping or mono-culturing and all the rest. But it's only by getting more and more of these voices out there that we can begin to construct our own points of view and paint our own pictures of the world.

I don't think I was at all eloquent in saying what I mean above, but basically - I am glad that we can review a book by someone who is different from us without walking on eggshells, and secure that when we do so, we are not putting every author of that background into one bucket. So thank you very much for this. It's wonderful.

What's with your subtitle?

It's a riff off an extremely obscure meme only Tom Hardy and Myspace fans will appreciate.
