Oh it was a colleague who was like 'I just don't think there are many funny female comedians', which he then ammended to 'oh sure, in situational comedy, but not stand up comics'. Cut to me using Google to find Andy Osho - 'she's never very funny on Mock the Week'. NOOOOOOOO because that show is well acknowledged (by the host and by female panel members) as a place where dudes flourish because they shout longest and loudest. Check her independent routines. Then a list of other funny women. Then 'it's just because there are less female stand ups', which OMG that is not how odds work in real practise!
