1. I loved this piece by Bernadine Evaristo - 2023 Is A Breakthrough Year For Black British Women Writers. It's such a warm, generous piece and full of so many great authors to check out.

2. Loved Behind the Scenes of Barack Obama's Reading List because yes this is something I very much did not want to become disillusioned about.

3. Paddington 3 is finally happening!

4. A lovely story about Kylie, Ghosts and Red Nose Day.

7. An article on Everything Everywhere All At Once, its mainstream success, and the resulting backlash. Wonderful, beautiful, personal piece.

8. Also on EEAAO, Maya Gittelman on the frustration of Jamie Lee Curtis's Best Supporting Actress win over Stephanie Hsu. I get why the Academy honored Curtis -- essentially taking what might be their best chance to give her what amounts to a lifetime achievement award -- but I also agree with Gittelman's take here.

9. Okay, one more. I really appreciated this Twitter thread from sqiouyilu on the differences between the English and Chinese versions of Weymond's speech about how he fights, and why this isn't a translation error but an adaptation for different audiences. I loved this speech before, and now I love it even more.
