Hm, I'm not sure if I agree that they reinforce that particular idea. I'm not sure *what* they say about what a girl needs to do or be to be desirable - though obviously something, because movies generally do even through casting choices. I don't find enjoying these stories sad, just... complicated, you know? I don't necessarily feel guilty about it, nor do I think anyone SHOULD. It's just useful to be aware of the imbalance when it comes to their POVs.
