lokifan: bloody Nezumi/Rat on his knees, text "survive and advance" (Nezumi: survive and advance)
From: [personal profile] lokifan
No. 6 reads like a lot of the generic dystopian YA novels I read around 2012-2015, where the mostly kind and sheltered protagonist discovers that his utopian city is actually a dystopia and a boy he once rescued has grown up to be a hot nihilist who’ll do Whatever It Takes to bring down the city, only it’s queer! (I’m still stunned that I didn’t know this before I picked it up, I hardly ever stumble across queer fiction in the wild!)

I'm also stunned you didn't know that, cos I watched the anime basically on the basis of 'dystopian YA with sheltered idealist/grew-up-rough nihilist pairing, but make it queer'. I haven't actually read the manga - should maybe check it out.

Criticism & Debate

What's with your subtitle?

It's a riff off an extremely obscure meme only Tom Hardy and Myspace fans will appreciate.
