I don't think women have to be the *sole* agents of change, but in my personal experience you can't drag the men into it. When I first started the guys would stop by, but if I kept to subjects on the blog that had an emphasis on female-interests, they wouldn't stay. In the early days I made a point to frequent their blogs in hopes of return visits, but there just wasn't any reciprocity-- so I kind of gave up. I added male contributors in an attempt to keep the male audience.
