What I was alluding to more than anything is that there's a focus of men not reviewing females. I'm saying that if you take a UF blog run by a female for example, and then look for a epic fantasy blog run by a female, then high chances that the UF blog decisively out numbers in female author reviews than the other one.
So why would this be? Just check All Things Urban Fantasy, which might currently the most popular UF site, or close to it: http://allthingsurbanfantasy.blogspot.com/2009/09/reviews-by-author.html
Why should we pay more attention to other SFF subgenres, and ignore the gender inequality that may exist in UF?
The subgenre being reviewed I think has a lot of weight on what in what gender is being reviewed, and I think it would be folly to discount it when many of the female blogs studied here I guess reviewed a lot of UF and the likes, while the male blogs didn't.

Again, just a theory.
