The trend I've noticed with male-run SFF blogs is that there are certain female writers they will review multiple books from, while covering many more individual male writers.
Which is, if I recall correctly, very much like the pattern seen in the Hugo Awards: women can win Hugos but their odds go way up if they are specifically Connie Willis or Lois McMaster Bujold.
