Thanks so much! I'm glad you like how this turned out! I found Mr. Murry pretty interesting as a character because there was a lot of potential for him to be idealized in the end, but I'm glad he was portrayed as flawed. It's a really important dynamic to see in a work like this, both for the race-related issues I highlighted, and also because part of the coming of age process is seeing one's parents as whole people, with both good sides and flaws.
