1. The soap opera I watch on Youtube dropped a new episode. Jen had her baby! I feel so much like Murderbot when he was defending a character in Sanctuary Moon in these moments when I'm cry-laughing about this wildly silly/entertaining family drama.

2. The delightfully analog art of letter-writing — One of the things I wish I was better at is writing letters. I had lots of pen pals when I was younger, back when I wasn't as self-conscious about what I was writing. As an adult, though, I second guess myself. In 2024, I tried to make letter-writing part of my week, but it always got sidelined by life stuff. I switched to postcards and that worked better, but it's not quite the same. It takes a lot of intentionality…and probably fewer hours on social media.

3. Kristen from Fantasy Cafe is doing a series of recommendation sessions in collaboration with her local library. This is very cool and I'm so hyped for her!

4. Me: I can't justify buying a new game right now! Or and playing it! What time, self?!

5. After four years of various conversations about it, I caved and launched an SFF newsletter, Intergalactic Mixtape. On plus side, less of me using Sidetracks like my own personal soapbox? :D?
