1. Captain Marvel to be scored by Female Composer. Pinar Toprak, and American-Turkish composer, will be the first woman to score a major superhero film.

2. Some images have been released from the set of Wonder Woman 1984, and three official shots from the film are out as well. First reactions - still not sure how to feel about the return of Steve Trevor (I'm kind of OK with it because it's Pine, but I did love the ending of the first film and does this cheapen it?) but in love with Diana's 80's suit! PS. [twitter.com profile] CMWAshby pointed out that this outfit is a homage to Lynda Carter's Diana!

3. A very long thread chronicling Jordan Peterson's appearance at the USA Young Women's conference. This made me feel so down, but it is interesting to note that Peterson's ideas about identity politics overlap with a certain section of the male, left's ideas about identity politics, so just THINK ON THAT men of the left.

4. Star Trek: Discovery showrunners fired for being abusive to the writers. Good.

5. Details have started to emerge about the first book in Marlon James' new African-inspired epic fantasy series.

6. Great thread about the economics of book signings.

7. Victor Lavelle's novel, The Changeling, is getting made into a TV series, and I am excited but afraid it will be too scary a story for me in visual form. One for horror fans to watch out for.

8. [community profile] fandomgiftbox (dreamwidth itself) (kind of like fandom_stocking but for the summer) is taking sign-ups until June 30th.

9. [personal profile] sophygurl wrote up a whole bunch of WisCon panels, including the one I was on about female friendships. A really great collection of links.

10. Here's a great profile of Tessa Thompson. The photos are also spectacular.

11. I was fascinated by Chuck Jones's rules for the Road Runner cartoons.

12. Archive Of Our Own are rolling out changes to their search engine and I am really hype! There's officially going to be a way to exclude tags, rather than having to aggressively abuse the search box! That sound you heard was a thousand fans suddenly rejoicing.

13. And speaking of AO3, they have a summary of why proposed EU regulations Article 11 and Article 13 are awful for fans.

Seanan McGuire talks about why people should stop dismissing our fandom roots.

Indeed, we do have a comment policy.

What's with your subtitle?

It's a riff off an extremely obscure meme only Tom Hardy and Myspace fans will appreciate.
