[ART] [Marvel Cinematic Universe] Pseudo-Historical Hela by [tumblr.com profile] shoomlah
Claire Hummel, famous for the Historical Disney Princesses, took a crack at a pseudo-historical Hela, and the results are fantastic. Hummel’s busy these days (hooray!), so it’s unlikely we’ll see this blossom into a full piece, but I’m so intrigued by the long hair and antlers situation.

[ART] [Sailor Moon] Sailor Moon Series by Lucas Werneck
Lucas Werneck’s art strongly reminds me of Adam Hughes, who marries pin-up glamour with respect and affection for the female characters he’s illustrating. This series of the Sailor Guardians is stunning, from Rei’s flawless eyeliner to Usagi’s just perfect everything. There’s a final piece of Haruka and Michiru that just captures the look of love so perfectly.

[ART] [Star Wars] Padmé Amidala by Annie Forsait
Russian cosplayer Annie Forsait stuns as Padmé in her Naboo Victory Celebration Gown, capturing the ethereal nature of a gown we barely see in the film. I’m especially impressed by the seeming use of her own natural hair.

[ART] [Star Wars] Empress Amidala by [tumblr.com profile] starbitart
Speaking of the Naboo Victory Celebration Gown, here’s an evil AU Padmé that utilizes the same headpiece. I love how this design remixes elements from her existing costumes to create something that might approximate the grandeur of a young evil Empress Amidala.

Halloween is the cosplay gift that keeps on giving. There were so many great costumes popping up on my Twitter time-line that I just had to share a few of my favourites. I don't have any real comments beyond 'Wow, these are amazing' so just click through and enjoy the spectacles:

[COSPLAY] [Black Panther] Black Panther cosplay by [twitter.com profile] sidneylogan (T'Challa, Ramonda)

[COSPLAY] [Wonder Woman] Wonder Woman cosplay by [twitter.com profile] KristinaArielle (Wonder Woman)

[COSPLAY] [Wonder Woman] Wonder Woman cosplay by [twitter.com profile] demicam (Wonder Woman)

[COSPLAY] [NASA RPF] Leland Melvin cosplay by [twitter.com profile] AndrewCMiller (Leland Melvin)

[COSPLAY] [Hidden Figures] Hidden Figures cosplay by dwellons (Mary Jackson, Dorothy Vaughn, Katherine Johnson)

[ART] [Dr Who] Untitled by [twitter.com profile] ZestyDoesThings (The 13th Dr)
Moving away from Halloween fan-work, the BBC revealed a picture of the 13th Dr's costume, and fan artists were quick to draw their own tributes. I love the swirly, galaxy inspired lining on the coat, and the sharp, direct gaze in this piece.

[ART] [The Good Place] Tahani by [twitter.com profile] beverlylove (Tahani)
A cute piece that understands Tahani is a good and pure angel of light.

[ART] [The Broken Earth trilogy] Syenite/Essun/You by John Sidoryk (Essun, Hoa)
Some very cool fan-art of Essun & Hoa from N. K. Jemisin's Broken Inheritance trilogy. Little ghostly Hoa. Essun illuminated by a few weak rays of light with a massive weapon in her hands and a determined look on her face. *Sigh* I can't wait for the TV series.

[ART] [Jessica Jones] Untitled by [twitter.com profile] geoffoarto (Jessica Jones)
Strong black and white art that really captures the spirit of the character.

[ART] [Thor: Ragnarok] Untitled by [twitter.com profile] type_nn (Valkyrie)
More fanart, of my favorite new character.

[COSPLAY] [Spiderman] Had to get some pictures for Jameson by [twitter.com profile] Sir_Hurizzel (Cosplayer), [twitter.com profile] 55mmbae (Photographer) (Spiderman)
This cosplay is SO GOOD; I like the costume, the poses are straight out of the comics, and I really love that last photo of him getting ready to swing into action. <3

[FIC] [Rogue One] The Last Poem of Jedha by [archiveofourown.org profile] schweinsty (15,486 words) (Bodhi Rook, Ensemble)
This has some beautiful world building and language, and I love this look at Bodhi's backstory and how he became the person we met in the film. I started crying about three-quarters of the way through and it was still worth it.

[VID] [Multifandom: Merlin BBC, The 100, Once Upon a Time, Game of Thrones, Wonder Woman (trailer), Sense8, Jessica Jones, Humans, The Hunger Games, Teen Wolf, Harry Potter, Insurgent, Stranger Things, The Lord of the Rings, Thor: The Dark World, Daredevil, , Agents of Shield, Captain America: Civil War, Doctor Who, Star Wars: The Force Awakens, The Avengers: Age of Ultron, Snow White and the Huntsman, Star Trek, Shadowhunters, Maleficent] Unstoppable by [youtube.com profile] dayXstarMV (2:05)
This vid is entirely female characters being badasses, which is relevant to my interests. I like the way it links them all visually, and it's introduced me to a load of fandoms that I'm suddenly more interested in!

What's with your subtitle?

It's a riff off an extremely obscure meme only Tom Hardy and Myspace fans will appreciate.
