Chaturday: We'll Fix It Together

At the end of every week, we gather at Lady Business HQ to share media thoughts and chat about the recent happenings in our tiny spheres of human experience. Feel free to join in, but note our comment policy if you're new! :D

As always, puns are welcome.

That sure was a week of emotional ping pong! But wow, what a week it was.

I finished up The Last of the Wine this week—I love Renault's language but her plot leaves much to be desired. And I continue plugging away at Star Wars: The Clone Wars, although my neutral interest in the clones means that the Krell arc doesn't do much for me.

I read a lot this week by switching to graphic novels. Finished Bombshells, Vol. 1 and Zodiac Starforce, Vol. 1. Now working on Ms. Marvel, Vol. 5 (yay) and then onto Monstress (which I'm so excited about).

I finally saw Ghostbusters this week :D Just gonna leave that there...

And I saw Star Trek Beyond this weekend while away for a trip. Anyone else seen that and have thoughts?

Which one is Last of the Wine? Is it a Greek one?

*Wanders in*

I've been reading the The Colours of Madeleine by Jaclyn Moriarty. I'm reading the third and final volume now. I'm really liking the characters and having a fair amount of feels.

Still working on Spirit Gate and Critical Role, and also I watched bits and pieces of the Democratic National Convention. (That counts as media consumed, right?) Also I watched Life of Pi last night. The visuals were stunning, and the story was moving in places, but I had many of the same issues with the movie as I did with the book. We also watched Minions, which I enjoyed much more than I thought I would. I liked the first Despicable Me well enough (not as into the second), but a little Minion humor went a long way for me, and I couldn't imagine it stretched out into a whole movie. But I actually found it quite funny, unexpectedly clever in places.

Someday, I will actually finish something again, and talk about it here. :)

Woo Ghostbusters!

I plan to see the new Star Trek soon, but have not yet done so. Maybe next weekend. Early word is somewhat encouraging, at least compared to Into Darkness, so I am cautiously optimistic. Should I revise that at all?

Yeah, her very first. I've read Fire from Heaven and The Persian Boy as a kid, but they had more incident than this one.

Oh, Bombshells is in trade now? I gotta get on that.
