I saw Ghostbusters last night and, unsurprisingly, loved it from the word "anti-Irish security system." (I don't know why the haters think men aren't funny in the movie; the tour guide and Patty's vandal are both great, as is Kevin.) Holtzmann destroying ghosts to the original theme song (orchestrated, of course) and Erin saving the day with a pocket knife were just such great hero shots. I've seen and have no real use, interest, or affection for the original, so I'm glad that a light, weird, feminist-focused comedy now exists IN ITS PLACE mwahaha

I also finished the third season of Star Wars: The Clone Wars this week. It ends with two arcs—one where Anakin and company have to break out a Jedi and then-Captain Tarkin from a super-secret prison and one where Ahsoka gets kidnapped and sent to be the victim in a Most Dangerous Game scenario where she teams up with some lost Jedi younglings and Chewbacca to save the day. I'm enjoying the show as connective tissue for Anakin's character arc through the whole series, and I definitely cried at the end of the season. It's nice to see Anakin immediately respect Tarkin, as someone who believes in victory at all costs, and to see Anakin be so destroyed by the idea that he can't rescue Ahsoka. And when she returns, he's so apologetic, and you really start to see Anakin's issues regarding losing people.

All my Anakin feelings are coming out.
