No, if you find it that creepy I would definitely not read it. If there hadn't been the core relationship between the women that we see (pretty voyeuristically) I imagine my reaction to it would change, too. Because no matter how you slice it, from today's perspective that premise tilts more toward creeptastic than romantic. But I also subscribe to the school of "just because I like it in fiction doesn't mean I would be down with it in meatspace". Which is a long title for a school of thought.
