[ART] [Harry Potter] The train station scene with age-appropriate Sirius by [tumblr.com profile] artofpan (Harry, Sirius)
I am screaming over this amazing and efficient Radcliffe!Harry. I really love how this artist captured his likeness in a way that feels so casual; his head is practically a block, but it works.

[ART] [Bandom] i must’ve called a thousand times // you used to call me on my cell phone by [tumblr.com profile] davevaleza (Adele, Drake)
This is a mash ‘em up of Adele’s “Hello” and Drake’s “Hotline Bling” videos in a single piece that gets perfectly right what makes these artists and those videos their own unique beasts and what those songs have in common—a yearning for connection. GORGEOUS.

[FIC] [Avengers] Die Hard (But Only If No Other Options Are Readily Available) by [archiveofourown.org profile] JenTheSweetie (23,915 words) (Steve Rogers/Tony Stark)
It takes a lot in a fic to make me laugh. I assume this is because I am a husk of a human being who doesn't appreciate quality comedy. I'm that person that Louis C.K. talks about at the comedy show that the artist sees after a joke not laughing at all. Straight-faced, no joy, direct to that comedian's sense of self-worth as someone who tells jokes. I'm a joyless automaton when it comes to funny things. But I laughed through most of this story, even the parts that were pretty emotionally fraught because even the disagreements were humorous, while at the same time stabbing you in the heart.

I make no secret that Age of Ultron pissed me off re: Tony, because I like Tony a lot and felt like the film was kind of a disservice to his story that Iron Man 3 wrapped up (Iron Man 3? That never happened in Ultron's universe, clearly.) But this fic used the storyline from Ultron to make me happy! WHAT AN ACHIEVEMENT. I didn't think that was possible. I'm so impressed with this story for managing to overcome my utter apathy toward the plot in Ultron. GOOD WORK, STORY. Also, I am a sucker for team fic and this is team fic on crack and Steve Rogers at his highest stubborn asshole setting. Five space bees out of five.

[GIFSET] [Hamilton] #Hamiltinder by [profile] lizdexia
I've been adoring the fanart coming out of fandom as Hamilton continues to roll us all up in a historical fiction katamari. This is a cute compilation of social media profiles. THEIR INTERESTS. I laughed until I cried.

[ART] [Avengers] Steve/Tony by [tumblr.com profile] kelslk-atnight (NSFW)
Listen, I tried to write a rec of this that was something other than "Yes I like imagining these characters taking off their clothes while making out and love artists who indulge me." At one point I was all, "The lines are this are so great!" as I tried to cling to a semblance of whatever I'm assuming the professional way of reccing sexy art is to try to retain the respect of whoever. I don't know why I lie to myself and therefore, to others. Who cares. If you like art where these guys make out shirtless this is your stop.

[ART] [Mass Effect] A woman's place is in the firebase by [tumblr.com profile] arch4ngel
We've been advertising an event at work about "A woman's place" in WWII, and every time I see the poster my brain goes "A woman's place is in the firebase!" because of this poster. ... We have a lot of posters for this event, guys, this has been bouncing around my brain for weeks.

[FIC] [J.M. Barrie's Peter and Wendy] A Hundred Years Ago by [livejournal.com profile] parsnips (5,435 words) (Wendy, Peter, Captain Hook) In case you still weren't feeling Pan as a film, here is an unsettling little fic about Wendy discovering how Captain Hook was created, and discovering that your friends are sometimes monsters. I think the tone of it and the voice the fic is written in really works, and Peter Pan as a fickle monster really works for me.

[VID/META] [Neon Genesis Evangelion/End of Evangelion] Folding Ideas – End of Evangelion and the Audience Author Membrane by Dan Olson (22:58) (NSFW. Spoilers, and caution warnings appropriate to the show)
This has such GREAT analysis the whole way through; anime/manga as a pulp format (especially the points he makes about levels of scrutiny, and about the expectations of and from the audience), the link between authorial intention and audience reaction, and the damning indictment of the main character who serves as an audience-surrogate. Plus, if you have managed to miss the story of how much Hideaki Anno hates his fanbase, this video has a summary of why and exactly how much that is completely recommended.

Hamiltinder was excellent. Great work, internet! And also very excellent was that team fic, which I too mightily enjoy. Stubborn Steve is the best Steve.

What's with your subtitle?

It's a riff off an extremely obscure meme only Tom Hardy and Myspace fans will appreciate.
