➝ If you ever wanted to cry over dying robot dogs, well….you should read Sony's Robotic Dogs Are Dying A Slow And Heartbreaking Death. You're all welcome, I guess.

➝ John Oliver took on online harassment. I used to be sad that he went to Last Week Tonight, especially since Jon Stewart is leaving The Daily Show, but this longer form is so great for him. His video on Transgender Rights was also good.

Apparently Meryl Streep wrote to all members of Congress asking them to focus on the Equal Rights Amendment. Of course she did. Perfect.

➝ There's going to be a special issue of Transformative Works and Cultures dedicated to femmeslash edited by Julie Levin Russo and Eve Ng.

Spider-Man’s Movie Problem As Explained Through Ja Rule’s Discography, which even though I don't know Ja Rule, is strangely compelling and well-argued.

➝ Pretty cool to see Niagara Falls and other monuments lit in rainbow colours to celebrate marriage equality in the USA. Congrats on the Supreme Court ruling America!

➝ The Queer Spec Fic Stories spreadsheet is a really useful resource I just discovered. Anyone can add stories to it much like they can add titles to Renay's Hugo spreadsheet. I do wish it had links to the stories that are available online instead of just the publication title, but that's really because I'm time poor and can be lazy :P

➝ I'm sure you've all seen the various pictures of people spoofing the raptor training from Jurassic World. Well now Chris Pratt has picked up the meme and made it unquantifiably adorable. Chris Pratt is too cute.

➝ Things would go down very differently if classic Disney princesses had moms.

➝ Female scientists took to Twitter with the hashtag #distractinglysexy to push back at Tim Hunt's sexist comments about women in the lab. For me the most telling about Hunt's comments is that he says of women 'when you criticise them they cry'. Aside from the fact that this comment is asinine, you're supposed to criticise the work not the person.

➝ Two pieces of great art to finish. First, this alternative poster for Fury Road. I love the colours, the shading and the perspective.

➝ And these super cute, brightly coloured dinos. :D

Criticism & Debate

Indeed, we do have a comment policy.

What's with your subtitle?

It's a riff off an extremely obscure meme only Tom Hardy and Myspace fans will appreciate.
