Yeah that's kind of it - I would never rec most of these books for Renay to read because of the unhappy endings & character death but they've got worlds where there isn't just one gay, lesbian and bisexual character (also I haven't read the last book yet because I have a bad feeling). Maybe the change from the 90s is that you could get these worlds & happy endings whereas in 2000s you get these kind of worlds and still get a lot of character death & unhappy endings? I think I learned I should def bump that Tanya Huff book on my bookshelves up my list.
