Not to mention that Shara is a colonizer and Vo is one of the colonized. She might get credit for his vision just as she gets credit for "barbarian" Sigurd's feats of strength and cleverness.

The most basic problem with flip-the-script stories is that they tend to perpetuate the problems of the thing they're trying to critique. It is not actually any less problematic for a brown woman to be lauded for a pale man's work than vice versa.
