Yes, I know I really do end up making really problematic decisions all the time with money, especially with the intersections of race and gender, because I want to support content featuring women but so often that content comes with huge portions of racism or erasure. A great example (besides this one) is Guardians of the Galaxy, which I totally want to see because obviously SPACE! But Zoe Saldana gets erased, doesn't she? (HER CHARACTER IS GREEN.) So it's wonderful she got the role and I am SUPER happy for her and want to support her because I love her work, but her racial identity is gone since she's an alien (same for some of the other characters, I think, too, along race lines?) And it's just...really frustrating.
