The last comment on the 'Further Reading' post you linked to mentions the L Word - what did I say the other day on G-chat?
Diversion to talk about The L Word: I've read some stuff about The L Word being too focused on women being shallow and having so much promiscuous sex (not as in 'don't have sex women' more in a 'this is playing into a stereotype of lesbians' way). I can see that being an issue, but since I much prefer UK Queer as Folk (which is all sex with everyone and drugs and emotions) to US Queer as Folk (which feels more issue focused to me every time I watch it, not that that's a bad thing, it just makes my shallow self see it as my second favourite version of this franchise) I kind of keep it in mind, but don't let it keep me from watching the show, because the program is damn awesome in so many respects. Although one of the central relationships annoys me so much because it is very dominant/submissive (gah Jenny, although I admit the actress who plays her is fab at creating her very annoying character) there are lots of different kinds of relationships throughout the series.
