I think the difference between the header and text combo sums up kind of what she's going for in her books - the juxtaposition of femininity and murder. It's all girls running round in dresses killing people or monsters in horrible ways - the murderer that smiles at you while you die in a glitter factor etc (that doesn't actually happen but I thought it would be cool). What I like is that she achieves that contrast between traditional femininity and the violent, or strong behaviour of her girls without going the traditional/sometimes it really annoys me way and making her characters show a lot of skin to emphasise just how female they are (I may have been reading too much stuff about comics and the drawing of female anatomy lately).
