[personal profile] bookgazing posting in [community profile] ladybusiness
A few days ago I said this Hello Kitty dining room would probably fit nicely into Lady Business head quarters. After finding that room I idly thought how much fun it would be to kit out a whole imaginary HQ with no regard for grown up style. It would be kind of neat to invent the kind of house we might all meet up in for the slumber parties we sometimes talk about. But with a long list of tasks to complete, and twenty other passing ideas on the go, I hurried on. I did not need anything else to add to my schedule.

I should have known not to give my completist brain any ideas.

After several hours spent drooling over Pintrest boards and some hot internal debates about what really made the grade, I’ve produced one version of what our head quarters could look like. If I were in charge of setting up the Lady Business premises what would they look like? Ana, Renay I present my idea for Lady Business Towers:

Welcome to Lady Business Towers. You would not believe the amount of house porn I rejected before choosing this one.

Please come in and make yourself at home. Shall we take a quick tour?

(source)

What a surprise; LB Towers has multiple libraries! You may have a very different vision of your perfect library though, so feel free to commission lots more rooms full of books.

A room to add a little class to lounging in front of the TV in your pyjamas.

(source)

The room that started it all.

room full of hot British actors an a Union Jack flag, with a tag that says you can improve any room by scattering a few hot British actors dressed in suits around it

(source)

I know this place is for all of us, but I think its pretty clear which nationality has claimed this room. Sorry ladies *secret grin*.

a light filled conservatory full of plants

(source)

Every house should have a conservatory, so that when the urge to hold a Cluedo party strikes you’re prepared.

Let us ascend to the top floor.

This is decked out in stylish, retro paper. Very on trend here.

We pause to admire one of our many fabulous views…

… and quickly check that the guest rooms are in order. What’s the point of having fabulous premises if you can’t have all your friends to stay?

(source)

I didn’t forget that you two might have other visitors who would want their own rooms.

(source)

We’ll all want to decorate our bedrooms differently, but I think this SF style should suit at least one of us.

My en-suite absolutely had to have a claw foot tub, for movie star effect.

rubber ducks in various bright designs

And none of the bathrooms would be complete without some accessories.

And now out into the garden.

Every eccentric property needs a maze.

large multi-layer descending step fountains featuring a white stone classical style building at the top

Fountains – Go big or go home.

a table set out under a garden lean to at night and decorated with lit fairy lights

(source)

And at night we can hang out under the stars.

Clearly, this is a classy establishment.

And finally a quick look at the stables, which are fully loaded with feministponies.

Part sugar rush dream, part country pile, Lady Business Towers has it all. See you all here for our next get together!

Note: Do you think our HQ lacks something vital? Then show us what we're missing in the comments :D

But where is Lady Business Towers' utterly charming modern kitchen, with its wicked implements, double ovens, natural light, and astonishingly well-stocked cabinets (gosh, I guess I just have to do something with all of this almond paste and cake flour!)? And, of course, its aristocratic dark-panelled dining room. Where am I gonna cook our theme dinners when I stay over? ;)

Now, I don't want to criticise, but there are not nearly enough daybeds to keep up the daybed:book ratio.

I once visited a private house that had a library with a double bed size day bed in the middle, full of cushions, books to the ceilings all round, and a big old desk with a massive comfy looking desk chair. I just wanted to live there forever.

My first thought was also WHERE'S THE KITCHEN? It might help that I'm kind of in love with the kitchen at my new house and keep daydreaming about how to decorate it :D When I take a break from unpacking I might go look for dream kitchens in Pinterest and drop the links in the comments. Be warned ;)

ALSO WE NEED BEANBAGS. I love beanbags :D

Something like this (http://curitibainenglish.com.br/wp-content/uploads/2012/12/270_DiningRoom.jpg)?

Oh, yes! Game of Thrones and medieval ones leap to mind, but then there's more abstract themes, like "blue". :D

This is all amazing and I want to go to there. But OH MY GOD THAT LITTLE KITTY BED. Do want! Or is it a giant cat? :D

YES PLEASE.

This was delightful! I want to come visit for tea, scones, and books and sleep overnight in the SciFi room! Dip in the guitar pool but not get lost in that maze!

That was such a fun tour!
