Clare: While generally agreeing with the argument that Depp's time is over, I must also say that his casting in Murder on the Orient Express is singularly appropriate. He's playing Ratchett, who is one of the most unpleasant characters Christie ever wrote, and is also the murder victim. The murder occurs fairly early, after which he won't be in the movie unless they do real violence to the manuscript. So just close your eyes and think of Poirot. :-)

(Also, DAMN I want to see Michelle Pfeiffer take on Mrs. Hubbard! It's a critical role, played by Lauren Bacall in the 1974 version.)

(Also also, Poirot is well-known to be vain of his moustaches, but Branagh's mustache looks like a snow-snake crawled onto his lip and died there. Yes, he needs the same kind of de-hunkifying for this role that he had in Henry V, but that's not the way to do it.)

What's with your subtitle?

It's a riff off an extremely obscure meme only Tom Hardy and Myspace fans will appreciate.
